How about Derek? Austin had Tornado's and 2" hail last night. It calmed down by the time it got to me, but I think they're still without power in spots over there.

I'm OK, no damage. [Smile]

The one that hit Austin went south, and right over my parents place, but they had no damage either. The center of it went over us, but the tornado producing part of it was on the South end of that cell. The other one that went over Owatonna was headed right for us, but calmed down before it got here. [Cool]

It was cool to look at after it passed, but I couldn't see much while it was over us.

I was keeping an eye on the radar, and did go to the basement for a while. [Smile]

I wonder how Kurt fared? When I turned on the TV last night they were pointing out where the tornadic activity was, and pointed right to where Kurt lives... Then today I saw his workplace on the front page of the paper, with one of the truck sheds destroyed. [Eek!]

Yeah, my workplace is pretty much gone, the only thing left intact is the office and the shed we park some of our dump trucks in. We spent all day yesterday knocking down what was left of the shop, equipment shed, and fertilizer shed. We had 8 dump truck that were damaged, most with broken windshields and all of the loaders and other equipment had damage of some type. Mine had a 2x4 through the windshield on the passenger side and was laying in the seat. Mack came down yesterday and had all of the trucks fixed by 2:00.

My boss lives right next door to the business and has several horses. All of them were hurt adn cut up pretty bad by all of the flying debris, the vet was there until 2:00 a.m. stitching them up, one had a dislocated shoulder and was treated but it wasn't showing any signs of improvment and had to be put down at 4:30 yesterday.

We apparently had a twister within two miles of the house but I have not had the time to drive around and talk to anyone to se if it caused any damage. I knew there was some bad weather heading our way but when all three dogs were hiding under the computer desk I figured it was time to head to the basement, glad we did as it got nuts after that for about 45 minutes.

We are going to have several day of clean up at work and the boss does not know how much of it he is going to be able to replace as some things were not insured. I am glad that he and his family were not hurt because with all of the damage that they suffered they very easily could have been.

They were also on the ABC national news yesterday, with the injured horses. From what I saw in the paper, I had no idea they had that much damage. [Eek!]

Dan has a lot of money, but he got it by being a cheap-ass... hope he replaces everything needed to keep everyone employed.

Wow kurt. Thats crazy. They had a video last night by a storm chaser that showed the twister about a few hundred yards right in front of him. There was a large warehouse looking building right next to it with tractor trailer docks and trailers backed up to some of the docks. But it didnt really look like it was tearing into the building like as if it was that Helen Hunt and Bill Paxton movie from 10 years ago. Not sure how bad that building suffered but it looked like a decent sized storm.

I have seen plenty of wall clouds, funnel clouds but never actually a tornado. Thats probably a good thing.

Dan is definetly taking care of us and we will not lose any work even though there are no useable building left except for the office and even that no longer has any windows or electricity.

I am exhausted from all of the clean up we did today at Hormel. It was very hot and sticky and all of the work was by hand. I cleaned up the GTA when I got home hoping to go over to Stewartville for the cruise in by I am quickly running out of steam. I was planning on heading up the B T T F Sunday but as we have to work tomorrow I think I will be too tired to make it.

Thanks everyone for your concern for me and my family, it's one of the reasons this is the best car club I have been a member of.
