Let me fill you guys in on a little something. I bought a M22W from SSJeff a while back. It leaks profusely due to a builder error. A mod from Team Chevelle built the trans wrong. He did not put a vented midplate in it. I have complained about it on TC but my threads get closed as the MODS all watch each others' backs. I am so glad it's not like that here but if you want some funny reading check in the transmission forum good read Apparently I am not allowed to complain over there. Especially since I didn't buy it new so just be careful who you buy stuff from.

So I take it that the builder built it and is not owning up to mistakes?? I hope that you get it all worked out in Sept. And to play devils advocate, Jeff never had anyone else work on it?

Yeah some other guy from the forum worked on it as well. He installed the case vent but fixed the shifting problem as I understand it...the builder initally assembled it with a non vented midplate causing it to leak. Then he stopped communicating with Jeff after Jeff complained of it not shifting right and of the leak. Autogear was quick to own up to inferior midplate design and quick to point out why it leaked. You see according to the builder if you're not the original owner you have no right to complain.

Actually Ron, since I had no luck with the original builder wanting to make it right, I took it to Joe K (in north Dayton) to take it apart and put a vent in it and check it out. He did put the vent in it but apparently put it in the wrong place, which I didn't realize at the time. Joe has had a stroke and gets confused. He also put a new seal and gasket kit in. I finally got sick of putting more money in it and sold it for a huge loss. I think Dave is going to have it right with a new vented midplate and will be happy with it, but be warned about certain "builders" on TC that won't stand behind their work.

Definitely a good read. I was wondering what ever happened to that trans. Sounds like your gonna have a nice one when its done.

Yeah that trans ought to be bullet proof. It's just a shame that someone can not or will not admit when they're wrong. I would say that Jeff would still have that trans in his car if only the builder had offered just a little service after the sale. Let that be a lesson to all. Just because you see someone one the TC forum selling something does not mean that you still don't need to get references and referrals.
