Anyone going down Saturday morning? I hope I spelled Somerset correctly. I got the Elroacho up and running last night around 12pm no leaks! I also have cold cold AC now. See you all down in KY Saturday.

What a trip!! I had to pull over on the way down and pull the primary needle and seat from the Holley...sucked in 2 pieces of rubber hose?? I was running down the highway popping and cutting out on the rear 2 barrels of the carburetor. I also broke a belt in the front right tire on the way down and my spare is a little large so I used John Singer's (thanks John) tire. Also once down there I won a door prize (t shirt rags and a license plate frame). Then I pulled the pulled the trans, bellhousing and clutch out of Kevin Couch's purple 70 in the county courthouse parking lot. Turns out one of his flywheel bolts backed out and jammed the clutch so we went to O'reilly's and bought all the new parts and I had her up and running. On the way home a guy running with us in a 64 Impala lost his alternator bolt and I had to take one out of the exhaust manifold to replace it plus a few washers we had in the tool box. All in all an eventful trip and now I am looking for a couple of new BFG 245/60R14 tires or any other deal on wheel/tries. Later
Dave
BTW Shay and I did run up and down the strip and boy was that fun I just wish we had fixed Kevin's car earlier.

That sounded like fun. I know what it is like breaking down on the road. I hate it for myself, but I sure don't mind helping friends out like that. Thats why it is fun going down together like that. It takes some of the worrying away about those kind of problems.
Whenever I get my car back on the road I will be checking everything twice. Especially while assembling the car.

Larry you can buy all new stuff and check it 100 times but until you run it down the road you just won't know.
I just pulled the trigger on a new pair of BFG 245/60/14's for the front of the Cameano and a Alumitech radiator. I don't like seeing the temp gauge on the right side of 210 and I'm not about to turn my AC off. I am slowly but surely working the bugs out of my car. My new 454 is in and running perfectly and leakfree. The Autogear M22 is shifting smooth and it too is leakfree. I have a few odds and ends to work out ie dome light, noisy speedo, passenger side vent window to name a few.

I know Dave. I am still a long way off the road even when I get the car back. Still got this stuff to do.
brakes to work out repack wheelbearings grease front end front end needs aligned new coil springs in the back front shock install all the wiring back in front and rear glass all the light bulbs dash/gauges rebuild installing chrome trim purchase interior install interior install engine install newly rebuilt 400 turbo. Hopefully works. purchase torque converter vacuum lines power steering components purchase new radiator and all hoses install all rubber seals in the car purchase all new locks and ignition check out the 12 bolt and make sure it is OK. rechrome front bumper purchase new steering wheel, old one cracked purchase new gas tank with lines rebuild starter rebuild alternator purchase new battery and cables
After all that gets bought and installed it should be getting closer to being on the road.
