I was just thinking about this... if these are 2009 calendars, we'll only have about 2 months to sell them, as nobody will buy a 2009 calendar after January.
If we make them 2010s we'll be able to sell them at events, and use them to promote the club all next year. It would still be great to get it done ASAP so we can sell them at the next meeting, but I think we'll sell a lot more of them if we make them a year ahead so we can sell them at events all year.

Good thought, but the main part of getting the clubs name out is the advertisors. Will they want to hand out a 2010 calendar this early?
Just a thought, but I'll do whatever is wanted.

let's slow it down a tad and get a bunch of advertisers and pics so we can make the calendars and have them ready around end of August. You're right, no-one wants a calendar too early and once they're printed, it's almost too late to sell them.

I agree with Bryan. Only I would say have them ready to sell at Car Craft for sure. It also gives some of us a chance to get some really decent pictures of our cars in the spring.

Here is the photo bucket of the pictures I took this afternoon when I took it out of storage. I have larger ones (3264x2448) if you tell me which ones you want and I can send them to you as full files. Calendar picturesPosts: 298 | From: Forest City, IOWA | Registered: Sep 2004

Me and John discussed this adamently and found a lot of people that would gladly buy a calender if it were well into January. There are still 11 more months left in the year. I find it no big deal either but thats just me.

negativity gets you no where if everybody would step up to the plate this will not take that long to get done. I have 12-14 companys that said what a great idea get it done.It would be nice to get 8 or more companys. It is about making money for the club and bringing in more members.Where can you buy a nice car calender.I do not buy a calender for the months or the days if I see what I like I buy it and to help the car club that is selling it.And what is wrong with the pictures that we have so far

John & Chris, Jeff; I think your doing a great Job. For a couple of guys to do all the running around taking pictures of members cars. Getting advertisementers to buy into this. This is what members do for the club. Now you guys are starting to act like a club thats wants its GOOD NAME out there. I say KEEP doing a great JOB. If we make a few mistakes during this yrs process. Good we learn as we go. Members that didn't get in this time. Will have a good shot at next time. lets finish it up. And get your work out there. Remember if you have 150 members. Your going to have 150 different Idea's. Next time. We'll have more time to do this. I'm proud of the work a few of you members that are doing this for the CLUB. We need MORE members like you 3. To keep this club FRESH & moving forward. nough said............C.O.G.

Sorry, I didn't mean to start anything... just thinking that it's going to take a while to round up another 12 pictures of different cars, so if we want to sell calendars at next summer's events, it will be too late for '09s and '10s might not be ready yet.
Can we get a list of sponsors (or at least what type of sponsors we have so far, so we don't call competing businesses)
Any parts vendors? Ground-Up, Year One, Hinshaws, OPG, etc...
Businesses that have helped the club in the past... Crystal Lake Automotive, Corvette Specialties, Keystone, etc...
There's a lot of possibilities, but I don't know who has been called already. Posts: 1515 | From: Dexter, MN | Registered: Aug 2004
