For once I am staying on Task!

Frame is blasted and Por-15 treated.
ALL suspension arms Front and rear Blasted-por-rebushed and installed.
Springs, shocks, front sway bar, all steering linkage and quick ratio gear installed.
Engine, (396) installed with 11" bellhousing, clutch and Muncie. Muncie has some fresh bearings and a hug from TSI
Fuel and brake lines back in.
Still need some shims for the rear sway bar.
All bumper brackets stripped and powdercoated.
Nos core support stripped and por chassis black.
Bolted on frame with radiator and hoses.
Fender skirts stripped-por tomorrow.
Stock manifolds machined-ceramic-installed.
Pending:
Exhaust is here, have a fit issue with down pipes. Working with Pypes to resolve.
Few minor detail items on frame.
Install u-joints with new yoke.
New lines for air shocks.

After a little problem with Mallory module in distributor, tech. swapped in another distributor with a pertronix module in it. (spare from 355 engine in sons' car)
Fired motor today, runs smooth, (finally).
I am a happy camper.

Now I need to mount body on rotisserie, prep and paint floor pans.
Got to keep moving on this, I think spring is here.
Karl

Have to keep up with John Enga.
Drove around town for an hour or so on Saturday.
Biskwik drive line seems to work fairly well together.
Switched out Super Shifter for a Competition Plus. Just like I had in my original 427 Biscayne.
Gears on this thing are waaaay too deep for the street/highway. My guess is somewhere in the range of 3:36 to 3:73 would have better manners.
Will take care of that next year.
New seat uph is here, frames are at powder coater. Carpet is ordered.
My upholstery guy is going to build the headliner.
Need to fix floor in shifter area.
All bolt on sheetmetal still needs final block and detail.
Car definately looks ike a Rat Rod, however is great fun to drive.
Glad I have enough spare parts for a couple of these things.
Karl

Keep up with me? You drove yours' around town for an hour or so. I still need to put my bumpers back on, so no test drive for me or least that I will admit to on a public forum.

No, it is I who needs to motivate to keep up with you. You are done the dirty stuff like the frame and suspension. That is something I still have to do.

I probably had it running for over a half hour just letting it idle while I kept a vigilant watch for any leaks, monitoring oil pressure / coolant temps. I will want to put fresher gas in before I do anything more.

Sounds great Karl. [Cool] You should bring it out to the club picnic. [Smile] Are you actually going to "finish" that car? [Eek!]

My brother is making some progress on his '68 fastback... I think he said he called you about your Pypes exhaust kit.

Derek,
I doubt I will ever "finish" it.
It is my favorite car of the fleet.
That would include the SSR and the Trailblazer SS.
If your brother gets up here before the snow flies, he is welcome to stop and take it for a spin around the block.
Karl
P.S. Will be out of town for the Picnic. Actually am in Evansville Wi. right now, wont be back till Wednesday pm.
