Another source - I was at UPullRParts today in Rosemount... they've got 2 late '70's Eldorado's in there! Don't know what size engines they are, but for brackets, doo-dads, and parts is parts they may be good!

Thanks guys, I have been talking to Jay and he has been a big help. Between him and the North St. Paul show, I've got new motivation to get my butt in gear.
Hey John, let me know the next time you go. I need brackets and doo-dads. I was going to pull them off my 472 but I would like to keep that intact. I got my 500 block from French Lake, but Rosemount is closer.

Get the distributor as well, the HEI will work just like when you convert "regular" cars. Not sure how much will still work, but it was in 76 I believe that they changed the 472/500 platform. Yeah, that was me who had the GP w/a 472.

Paul if you get the points distributor setup with a module it will kick ass. Get the unit cleaned and recurved with the module and your set. I did that to my dads old 500 ambulance. He was shocked how well it ran after that.

Also, the stock Q-jets on the 472/500 was a huge mother-750 or 800 cfm if I remember. If you don't use it, there's plenty of value in internet land. I or someone else can probably run the numbers to tell exactly what it is.
