Hey Jamie, I found some info... 69-76 are the columns we can use.
At the bottom of this page, (http://jimshea.corvettefaq.com/?page_id=5 ) there's a bunch of information on steering columns from Jim Shea, an engineer from Saginaw.
He has an article in there about using a 70-76 F-body column in a '69 F-body, but makes no mention of using them in an A-body... I don't see anything about if later A-body columns will work either.

I have been looking at this today too. Seems the 69 I bought was supposed to have a floor shift column in it. I could have sworn there was one in it when I first went and looked at it but when I finally moved it yesterday it was definetly a column shift, column in it. Im suspecting it was swapped after I agreed to buy the car. Unfortunatly for me, I didnt realize it till last night after I got home and thought about it.
Ill have to go back out and look at it tomorrow to see but I have a feeling that if it was swapped, that means the big block steering shaft that I KNOW was there is probably gone now too.
I know for sure I will be looking high and low for the proper steering column for this car so this info is very helpfull to me too.
