Wiring up date: Fri,-Mon. %$*%(^*&^%)*&%)*&%(^&%#%^&(&*)^#$&%*^&%*%$^%&&*%(^$^&)_)(*%@#$%& SILVER MULLET! I have the dash lights working Interior lights working Heater fan working Front signals working Left rear signals and all lights SO WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON WITH THE RIGHT SIDE? I have swapped steering colums, reconnected the grounds, rechecked the lamps, 2 new flashers, gone back over the connections with dielectric grease, and had the dash in and out 3 freakin times! I cannot get the right rear signal or flasher to work. I get a weak signal at best, and it seems like a ground that I'm missing somewhere. Anyone have a clue what I'm missing or overlooked? Mike wants this car back at least once to drive this year and I'm loosing patience fast and could use any help I can get.

First, are you t-shooting with bulbs or the LEDs? (If with LEDs swap to known bulbs)
1) - Do the LH & RH taillamp work? 2) - Do the LH & RH backup lamps work? 3) - Does the licence lamp work? If the above check out it's not likely a grounding issue (these circuits should share a common grounding point in the rear harness).
a) - Do the brake/stop lights work on both L & R, or only on the Left? b) - Does the RH dash indicator & Front signal lamp work?
Remember, the Turn Signal Switch (TSS) and the 4-way/Hazard switch makes/breaks the circuit from brakelights to turnsignal - inserting the flasher circuit.
If you've got brakelights on both sides the wiring from the column connector back is good. If you've only got brakelights on the LH side there's something funky in the TSS, Hazard circuit, or the harness.
Look at the rear harness at the tail/stop bulb sockets. Both the L & R sockets should share the same colored wire going to one of the bulb contacts.... this would be taillight.... you're interested in the other wire - the Turn/Stop feed wire (independent for each side). Make note of the LH & RH colors.
Go forward in the harness and find these wires at the column connector, or the most forward connector before the column. Undo the connector.
Get an inline fuseholder (5A will do), a length of wire, and connect it to hot 12V+. Touch this temporary feed to the correct wire(s) in the "going back 1/2" of the connector. JUST DON'T APPLY +12V TO THE GAS GUAGE SENDER WIRE!! The bulbs should light up. (If not, there's something amiss in the feed wire going back to the bulb socket.)
This testing procedure should isolate the problem to either a bad rear harness or defective TSS/Hazard circuit.

I have running lights on the RH side No problems on the left with any signals or lights. Prior to the new wire harness under the dash I had nothing on the right at all. So I thought I had corrected something. The interior signal light for left and right works only right just glows dim. I have the LEDs in now and the lights on the right never worked when the car came in. I have the License plate light working and the bulb for the trunk light is still not working. Chris said he will stop out today and help me try to get this thing done. This is the most agrivating thing EVER, even more then wife and kids. At least Aaron will reach in and grab a wire where I can't reach, and hit the brake pedal.

Check the RF turn signal and RF marker light (if it has one) for bad/pinched wires or missing bulb.
Something's nagging me about how the front turn lamp & marker light "wig-wag" when signalling on GM stuff.

IT WORKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Chris found the wire in the intermediate harness that was nearly broken all the way through. Had to yank the Interior but it works now. Thank you to all who helped and listened to my whine and rants. The SILVER MULLET will be leaving and Mike will be driving it soon. BTW he has been over today and looks like he has ODed on Viagra since the problem was fixed.

Its the first I have seen Johns lights in a 71/72. They look really nice with all lights working. The reverse lights will have to be wired into switch on the Lokar shifter but thats not a big deal.
It was also nice to hear the car run with the new exhaust for the first time. Will need some fine tuning but thats alright. Its kind of heartbreaking in a way that the car is finally back on the road, I really enjoyed working on it. All those 100 mile round trips I took out to Dave was well worth it and I would gladly do it again for someone else. I will be making it out again to get those pictures I have been needing for months and to ride in this thing and feel how much of a difference it makes on the road now. Car needs some real shake down done on it anyways.
I hope you didnt get discouraged at all Mike, these things can be a real can of worms and now your on the home stretch and can really make it out to car shows and club events with your own car.

Mike, the only homes it knows are this place and Jamies. This could cause a trauma on the poor car, and my need additional help to deal with this issue.
