Maryland Bill to Create Antique Vehicle Registration Class, Reduce Registration Fees To Be Considered by Committee 

A bill (S.B. 13) in the Maryland State Legislature to provide for a registration class for antique motor vehicles and reduce registration fees for these cars will be considered by the Maryland Judicial Proceedings Committee.      

We Urge You to Contact Judicial Proceedings Committee Members (List Attached) Immediately To Request Their Support for S.B. 13

· S.B. 13 would create a new class for antique motor vehicles to include passenger vehicles, motorcycles or trucks manufactured before 1946 that have not been substantially altered from the manufacturer's original design.        

• S.B. 13 would exempt antique vehicles from annual registration fees and require a one-time only registration fee of $25.50.
   
• S.B. 13 would provide for a special antique motor vehicle registration plate.
   
• S.B. 13 would exempt antique vehicles from laws requiring periodic inspections.
   
• S.B. 13 would limit antique vehicles to occasional transportation, exhibitions, club activities, parades tours and similar uses.
