Mark and Penny Holling's 1965 Chevelle L79 -- It wasn't fancy. It was a Super Sport but it was a radio delete car with clear (non-tinted) windows. It did have full instruments but no tachometer … but I didn’t care. Under the hood was a 327/350HP engine backed by a Muncie 4 speed transmission. It was what I was looking for. I added a set of Gabriel Hi jackers and 4 after market magnum 500 wheels and I was cruising the gut with a car that stood out. I really had fun with my car. It was fast, and great looking. My other friends also purchased '64 and '65 Chevelles, but I kept my car for all of these years. The next spring, I met a really cute girl while cruising. Two years later, she became my wife and we left on our honeymoon in the Chevelle. Over the years, the Chevelle has been used and unused but never unloved. While other cars with greater value sat out in the rain, my Chevelle always had a place to be dry. My wife even complained that I loved that Chevelle more than her. I assured her that I loved her and the Chevelle just as much and I would not part with either. This year, I will have owned the Chevelle for 40 years and Penny and I will celebrate our 37th anniversary.
