Mark and Penny Holling's 1965 Chevelle L79 -- It was November 1968. I had graduated from Fort Vancouver High the prior June and had just started college. My current car was a 1951 Ford Victoria that came from my grandfather. I would cruise the gut in Vancouver and see the cool cars and I longed for something faster and stronger. I was working my way through college and one of the people I worked with was Robert Fettig. He was trying to sell his car. He had previously had it on consignment at a local used car lot for $2100, but said, "Mark, I've got a car for you and I will make you a deal on it." He was offering a 1965 Chevelle, Malibu SS, 327, 4 speed. Well, I was very interested and on November 15, 1968. I came up with the "deal" price of $1400 and I was the second owner of this white rocket. The car was originally delivered from Ron Tonkin Chevrolet on February 9, 1965.
