Russ and Diana Pishion's 1969 Chevelle -- After much searching, I found the car in Portland. It was grey primer. It had been garaged for 18 years slowly being set up to drag race. The guy decided to sell it to buy a home. His loss, my gain. It had some cool things on. A B&M ratchet shifter, Holley 700 double pumper, Lakewood ladder/traction bars and a sunroof that leaked. It wasn't too long after getting it home that we saved up and had the sunroof removed. It had a 12:1 compression, and even with an octane booster it wanted to rattle and ping. SO I decided to bore the 454 to 468, put in a bigger Crane cam and valve train with chrome moly push rods, lower the compression, and balance the engine. I installed a Torker single plane intake, an electronic ignition and got rid of the double pumper in exchange for a 750 Holley. I made a nice grocery getter of it. We get the ice cream home before it melts.
