Rod and Sharon Beymer's 1966 Chevelle SS 396 Convertible -- For several years, we had been looking for a '66 or '67 Chevelle convertible. We never expected to find one in good condition in our price range. Realistically, we knew this would be a long search, and mostly a daydream. Rod's cousin was down from Idaho for a visit and brought a snapshot of her car for him to see. His immediate response was "when you are ready to sell that car I had better be the first person you call." It was almost three years later that he got a call from his Aunt and Uncle here, telling him that his cousin was ready to sell. The emails and phone calls started flying! The deal was made, and in the second week of September 2001, the orange 1966 Chevelle 'SS' Convertible came riding down our street on a trailer. The sun was shining that day, and our first sight ever of this car was a blazing splash of colorful Chevelle sitting on that trailer. What a scene of total excitement! Need I say that the snapshot had not done the car justice?
