Fred Trient's 1964 El Camino aka DD, The Shady Lady -- The shady lady is my current El Camino who has a dark past, but first: My El Camino story is kind of a circular one and started many years ago. I went searching with my heart set on a 1965. After months of finding nothing (hey, the Web wasn't up and available) or ones that were radically modified or battered beyond what I was capable of dealing with, my newest ride was a decent Marina Blue 67 in Malibu trim. Pretty soon it grew on me and the desire for a 65 faded away. Old Blu served me well for many years - that is until a crash that messed her up very badly. So my new classic now is, I'm happy to say, what I set out to get in the first place ... kinda.
