Fred Trient's 1964 El Camino aka DD, The Shady Lady -- So from what she might have been to what she is ? Three of the options, I'm told, are fairly rare. There is a narrow metal fan shroud, a Winters aluminum intake manifold and a dash top clock. Other options are in-dash tachometer, A/C, power windows, center console, Muncie 4 speed, 12 bolt rear end, power assist brakes (all drum) and 7/8 rear stabilizer. It's red on red with what seems to be the correct white headliner. The red paint is Ember Red according to the cowl tag (922) or Fred Red if you go by what Quality Paint dubbed what they specially mixed to match. Though the fender emblems say 327 the current engine is a 283 (by the block code) of unkown internal mods with an Edelbrock carb, MSD distributor and stock iron headers. The screw-down bed panel was modified to hinge at the cab wall and I've sprayed the storage space below it the body color to spruce it up some. The bed had been coated with that black, semiflexible stuff which is GREAT for a daily driver truck - DD earns her keep!! Also, I custom built a bed cover in grained, black vinyl.
