You can charge the system with   CO2, this will pressurize the system.
Then get soap bubbles and pour around your connections and look for
bubbles.

The CO2 is not too expensive and you can build enough pressure to find
most leaks.

   I removed & cleaned the entire A?C system in my 72.    Took great
care to properly seal the connections as I reinstalled it.    I a have
huge vacuum leak.     It bleeds down from 28in hg +  to 20 in.  in less
than 10 minutes.    I took the connections apart this AM & replaced
(again) the o-rings & used an A/C thread sealer.   Still leaking

 

   Short of charging it with a dye & 134, is there a relatively easy way
to find the source of my leak.   I was thinking of pressurizing with
air.   Is that feasable & do you think it would help?
