Hi Rottyjoe,
I am planning on attempting this project over the winter, one reason of
course to sound deaden, but the main reason is I am getting a tremendous
amount of heat coming from the engine compartment. How does this material
work to reduce heat transfer from the engine compartment? Will it hold up
to the heat on the firewall or would I have to use something different for
that area?
If not too much trouble could you send pictures.
Thanks,

Well, guy's I did a frame off with my 69 Chevelle. I too wondered what I was
going to install below my carpet, my floor pans were first painted, and
ready to accept the original tar paper. Then I have a friend that does a lot
of restoring, so I took his advice. I went to Lowes hardware store, in the
insulation dept. they sell a roll of insulation that is about 1/2 inch thick
and it is silver on both sides, and you pay about 50.00 total. I rolled it
out did some adjustments in some areas. Some places needed to be glued down.
In my opinion it worked out great most of my friends here are now doing the
same thing. If any of you guys want I could e mail you a picture of what it
looks like once in the car.
Thanks Joe P.
