[Chevelle-list] Bad Valve seals???

  This is a link to a picture looking into my exhaust ports.

Am I correct that the one on the right is "normal"  and the one on the left
indicates bad seals?    OR something else?    I do have a puff of smoke when
I initially start the motor and was intending to replace the
seals.
