[Chevelle-list] Front end rebuild - '65 Malibu

I assume the contents of all the kits you priced from $200-$500 contain the
same parts. That is, all have the same bushings, ball joints, etc.? If so,
you might try pricing the pieces individually at some major auto parts
suppliers that carry Moog to compare how much extra markup or markdown you
get by getting a package deal. If a local parts store has the same parts
for about the same as a higher end kit price, you can be pretty assured
you're getting all Moog stuff. There's not much markup between jobber
pricing and 'dealer' pricing in the parts business - at least there didn't
use to be - so if the prices are comparable, you know the $200-range stuff
probably isn't worth risking your car or your life over.

Certain no fun to have a ball joint let go and finding yourself in a ditch.
Been there...

Hi Tim,

Now that you have said it, I see the Moog name on page 75 in the ball joints
and bushings area. It would be good to put it on the rebuild kit area too.
The difference from roughly $200 to $500 is huge, is Moog really that much
better? Maybe that could be explained on the site as well.

Thanks,
Dennis
