Hi All - Just made the final arrangements for the rebuild of my BB for the 65 SS. I have settled on an balanced 489 cu in Eagle rotating assembly with steel crank, H-beams rods, and Mahle pistons. The C.R. will be about 9.7 to 1 with the 110 cc Edelbrock RPM heads. The cam will be a Comp Cams 292 Duration Part# 11-450-8 hyd roller. The block will be .060 over for 496 cu in. I will keep the Richmond 5 sp since I can still push in the clutch. The cost will be close to $4000.
The previous displacement was 427 because of the 396 crank. The badge on the front fender said 427 below the SS. That will come off, and the badge will be the original 327 SS.
Should be a great grocery getter!
