    Meeting Notes

    Members Present

  • John & Debbie
  • Randy & Alba
  • Dave
  • Larry
  • Rick
  • Steve M.
  • John E.
  • Todd & his brother Terry
  • Ron & Family
  • Mark
  • Secretary Report

Tanya did not attend. Mark B. took notes.

    Treasurer Report

The Treasurer's Report was read by Rick. The club has $708 in the bank account and has 16 members and 2 associate members.

    Sergeant at Arms Report

Craig did not attend. No problems reported.

    Club Car Show

Vice President Randy gave the President's Report and West Union Car Show Report. The show will be held at the Adams County Fairgrounds in Ohio on May 31. Setup is Friday, the show is on Saturday and the event may be extended into Sunday. A swap meet is planned. The show website update is in progress (see the main TSC website page, click the Car Show button to view).

Raffle items being considered are a 32" flat screen TV. Randy mentioned a phone call from a dealer offering to raffle a 2007 Corvette. The club would have to sell several hundred expensive raffle tickets to cover the cost, so we will decline the offer for this year. Dave mentioned we could possible negotiate a crate engine raffle from this same person. We discussed having the excess proceeds go to our Ronald McDonald house charity.

Dave also mentioned finding a mobile dynamometer provider to run rear wheel dyno runs at the show. We should verify insurance coverage and price with the provider.

We will be researching raffle items to see prior to and at the show. Randy got in touch with Ronald McDonald House and developed contacts and approval to use their logo in relation to the car show.

A new award structure will be developed this year. A top 50 with specialty categories structure is currently the favorite choice. This year a spreadsheet scoring system is planned that will show a list of winner names and car type / year, along with a verification system that will identify specialty winners and remove them from list of top 50 winners. It also may be wise to standardize our judging. In addition to training like last year, every judge could score the same 2 or 3 cars. The variances in scoring between judges can then be normalized within the spreadsheet, so that all judges are scoring cars at the same level.

Verizon has agreed to be a show sponsor again this year and will have a booth at the show.

There are plans to have a truck or tractor pull at the event this year beginning at 4-5 p.m. Hopefully this event will draw additional spectators.

    Club Events

Many Club Car Show Events were mentioned as well as meetings being held at local events. Listed Events should be specific activities where all club members should try to participate. Another list of shows, cruise-ins or other activities will be in a separate list. Watch the website for posts.

    Member Projects

Dave is working on his El Camino and hopes to have it at the Sharonville show in April.

Rick still plans on having the '67 at Chevellebration this year.

Larry began working on his Chevelle, hoping to have it painted Orange soon.

Tod and his brother Terry were planning on recovering the seats in the '65. We mentioned PUI and Legendary seat covers. Many consider Legendary covers the premier brand.

    Action Items

    Club Banner

Dave and John Espy have investigated pricing for a new club banner. (Ensure the club email address is updated on the banner: tristatechevelle@…). A 3' x 6' banner costs about $30. The solution will be voted on at the next meeting.

    Club Merchandise

Ron brought in a catalog offering multiple car-related items including banners, trophies, shirts, dash plaques, etc. This may be the catalog of the company Mike W. noted at the last meeting.

Tod brought in a catalog from A&S. The catalog is also viewable online. They have many products including polo shirts and promotional items in addition to t-shirts. Note that there is no set up fee for future embroidered items using the standard logo that has already been submitted. The shirts related to the promotion are Hanes brand.

We agreed that a list would be developed with 2 orders of 24 shirts each. One order will be dark blue and one gray, with the dark blue color having the Chevy bowtie logo in white rather than black. Mike will verify the colors and sizes for each color on the website. There will be Large, X-Large and XX-large for each color choice. It is assumed that sizes can be mixed within each 24-shirt order (Mike please verify this with Tod). Dave asked about youth sizes. These are likely not part of the special pricing, but may be included in the order (Mike, please verify this with Dave and Tod). Note that the larger sizes have an additional cost ($2 per shirt).

The club will purchase the T-shirt order and members will purchase shirts as desired. The remainder will be sold to the general public with a few possibly offered as door prizes at the West Union car show.

    Meeting of Local Clubs

Steve M. has been speaking with other clubs in the area to arrange a multi-club meeting. The tentative location is Richmond, Indiana. Refer to the forum for more information.

    Next Meeting

Our next meeting will be held at the Quaker Steak & Lube in Dayton on March 16th at 2:00PM.

Rick has his '67 "very close". He and Amy are excited about taking their car to Chevellebration this year.

Ron has his trans & engine back and will be ready this month. He may need assistance with some of the putting the project back together.

DG is working on his project Chevelle. DG can use some assistance and will notify the club of a target weekend to help.

Larry says, "Not this year". See our post for the Jan 09 for his commitment.

Todd was present for the meeting and is one of our new members. He has a '65 Chevelle and we can't wait to see it.

    Action Items

It was decided that we need a new club banner and Dave and John Espy are pulling some strings to see what they can come up with. (Ensure the club email address is updated on the banner: tristatechevelle@…)

Club Merchandise was discussed and as luck would have it one of our new members, Todd, has some connections to this. He is working with Mike to see what we can come up with.

Meeting Notes - Club Picnic, Cowan Lake State Park

    Thank You

The club picnic went very well. A big thanks to Mike and Tanya for finding the location, setting up the poker run cruise, the Wing Bar Jambalaya and post-picnic hospitality. Also to Rick and Amy for the club food and door prizes. Thanks to everyone that attended for the excellent food, set-up and clean up.

    1. IRS Filing

Tanya found the requirements for the IRS filing (thank you, Tanya): Our club did not have to file any type of paperwork as long as our gross receipts were under $25,000 on a 3-year average. Starting in 2008 we file an E99N Electronic Filing called "E Post Card" by 5/15 of each year. The IRS will verify our existence, address of the club and verify that our gross earnings were under the $25,000. The E Post Card is not yet up and running but will be by next year.

    2. Nominations for Officers

Nominations for club officers are being accepted. Elections are at the October meeting. Everyone should consider running for an office, particularly if you were not an officer this year and would like to see changes in the club. If you would like to run, send an email to a member or post in the forums. Someone will nominate you (candidates are nominated by an active member and must be seconded by another member). There is a post on the Meeting section of the forum for officer nominations. Newly elected officers take office at the December meeting.

    3. Motion to Reduce Dues

Larry made a motion to reduce the annual dues. The club voted to reduce the member dues from $36 to $20 annually and the associate dues from $6 to $5 annually. This is a Bylaws change and requires 3 votes. The next votes are at the October and November meetings.

    4. Randy

Randy is doing well after by-pass surgery. The club members at the picnic have provided a little surprise for him…

    Meeting Notes

    1. General discussions were very positive, everyone who attended participated and we had a good time despite the cold weather and occasional light drizzle.

Ron Taylor did quite a bit of work to have his Chevelle at the picnic. Unfortunately, Ron's engine gave out during the cruise. A BIG thanks to DG, Dave and John who saved the day with DG's trailer, Dave's truck and John (and all's) elbow grease to load up the '68 Concours Chevelle and get Ron back to the picnic and home. Ron has an engine to replace the 307, so no real harm done.

    2. The By-Law updates have passed the first of the three required votes to approve the proposed changes. A few minor additions were made and the result are posted HERE (link available soon).

    3. Elections - officer nominees had the opportunity to speak and elections were held. The results are:

    President
    * Dave(unopposed)

    Vice President
    * Randy 47%
    * Ernie 35%
    * Larry 18%

    Treasurer
    * Rick (unopposed)

    Secretary
    * Ron 18%
    * Jeff 18%
    * Mark 65%

    Sergeant-AT-Arms
    * Craig (unopposed)

    4. Jeff, Ron, DG and Mark provided website updates and confirmed that updates to the site would be handled under a "gentleman's agreement" to discuss significant site updates before posting them. We are also investigating a way to provide secure access to a specific part of the webpage for internal discussions.

    5. Thanks to everyone for bringing food and door prizes (and for building the fire!). The efforts of all who set up, cooked and laid out the excellent food is much appreciated!

    Jan 15th Meeting Notes

Meeting Notes: The meeting at Applebee's was well attended.

    • Dave Maphet Pres., Randy & Alba Chamblin VP, Craig & Gail Holder, Gary Albers, Jon Kennedy, John Espy, Kevin Couch (new member with a purple 70), Shay Shafei, Rick & Amy Shoemaker Sec., John Singer, Jeff Baker, Steve Simokov, Jerry & Sharon Paddock, Mark Budke, Mike Dilley, Ernie Sloan, Bill Beard

I believe this is the entire list, we didn't pass around a sign-in sheet. If I've forgotten anyone please chime in.

As far as new business, I received an e-mail from Shorty about the spina bifida car show. They have had a meeting and wanted to use our logo for the show which we approved. They also are planning on using a 56 Chevy and a 66 Chevelle for the flyer. Also the flyer is going to have business card sized ads which will cost $35 and half page inserts which will cost $250. This is a well attended and respected car show and they want help with sponsers, you Dayton guys may be able to help a little more with this. Also Shorty will be getting another meeting together which will be a joint effort between us and them.

The second order of business was to discuss upcoming events, which of course will include Chevellabration 06, June 8th-10th. We ask that everyone consider other events we want to include and bring ideas to the next meeting. Also the Show & Shine calendar will be out at the Sharonville show, and it will help us to plan our year. Other events that were mentioned were:

    • The Pumpkin Run, Sommerset, Sharonville, Sharon Woods, Kil-kare, Woodward.

We need everyone's input on club events. If you can't attend put up a thread or e-mail one of the officers we'll be glad to add to the list.

Our next meeting is planned for the 12th of February at El Rancho Grande. It is located right off of the SR122 exit at I-75.

Thanks everyone for a great turnout and a great meeting. I also appreciate the patience as I am still learning to run these things. Also Mark had his newley painted Monte SS and it looked SSuper. The only Chevelles that attended were John Kennedy (67) and Couch's 70, and John's is still recovering from a little run-in with a van(I think). It sounded killer, we were waiting for the burnout Jon!

    November 12th Meeting Notes

We had a decent turnout today.  Ernie had already done the work that we were going to help with, so we ended up benchracing for a while.  Ernie and his wife had a nice spread of food laid out for us.  We all ate and then got down to the business side of the meeting.

Our new President took the helm today, a month early.  He did very well seeing as he didn't come prepared to lead the way today.  We talked about the Gem City Show, and what would be happening at the meeting with them.  Dave confirmed some of the people that volunteered to help out with the show.  We talked about and voted on ordering the window cling-ons.  We decided to have Craig order 100 of them for now.  We also talked about having a new banner made.  Dave is supposed to get with John Gilligan to find out the details on that.

We decided to forego a meeting in December, due to the holidays and events surrounding them.  Our next club meeting will be Jan. 15 at 2:00pm at the Applebees in Milford.  Then we will have another meeting on Feb.12 at 2:00pm at El Rancho Grande in Middletown.

    In attendance today were:
    Ernie Slone
    Bill Beard
    Craig and Gail Holder
    Larry Grigsby
    Paul Muller
    Steve Simokov
    Joe Lyons
    Randy Chamblin
    Rick Shoemaker
    Ron Taylor
    Dave Maphet
    Mark Budke

I hope I didn't forget anyone.  If I did I am so sorry.  That is what I get for not doing this right after the meeting.

    October 9th Meeting Notes

We got the election over with first and then we went on to other items.

We have a new President and Vice Prez.  I think the club is in good hands.  Here are the new 2006 officers.

    President:          Dave Maphet
    Vice President:   Randy Chamblin
    Treasurer:           Rick Shoemaker
    Recording Secretary:  Ron Taylor
    Sergeant @ Arms:  Craig Holder

We voted today to help out the Gem City Classics club with putting on their annual Spina-Bifida charity car show.   The way it sounds that club is having a hard time getting help so we will be playing a major part in that show which will be held in late August.  We will be trying to schedule a meeting with that club to plan ahead real soon.  This is an all Chevy show that has been top notch in the past so there should be some good exposure for our club there.

We have Craig Holder checking into prices on the vinyl cling on window stickers.   I think we have agreed to order 100 of them if the price is right.  That way everyone in the club can have one plus it will included in the new member packets.  Also discussed the license plates and frames.

We also had a small discussion about getting the club incorporated.  We will be discussing this in detail in the future about the ins and outs of that with someone that knows about that subject.  We need to do that to protect our members.

We also voted on supplying the Recording Secretary with funds for ink cartridges and paper supplies because it is presently coming out of the Recording Secretaries pocket and we don't want to put any additional burden on him.

The next meeting will be at Ernie Slone's place.  He will be getting us directions and such to his place in the near future.  It will be on Nov. 12th around 2:00 p.m.  We decided to hold off on the Dec. meeting depending on what we might do with the Gem City Classics club.

We are still a growing club and we picked up two new members.

    In attendance was:

    Dave Maphet
    Larry Grigsby
    Jon Kennedy
    Jerry Paddock
    Mark Budke
    Bill Beard
    Ernie Slone
Jeff Baker    (yes he was here for the one that needs to know  LOL)
    Craig and Gail Holder
    Rick Shoemaker
    Randy and Alba Chamblin
    John Espy        (New Member)
    Steve Simokov  (New Member)

If I missed anyone I apologize.

September 18 Meeting, Picnic, and Cruise

We had a great time today.  It was a great turn out, and the planning committee did a bang up job.  Thank to Craig, Gail, Greg, Susan, Rick, and Amy for getting this organized.

We started out with the picnic and everyone seemed to get their fill.  There was quite a spread, and it all tasted great.

Susan brought a piñata for the kids.  They had a great time trying to hit that thing.  While they were trying to get at the candy, the adults were drawing for door prizes.  Thanks to Rick and Amy for picking out some great door prizes.  There were floor mats, a club hat, California mini duster, thermos, cleaning products and a number of other things that were given out.

We had a very impromptu meeting.  We were originally going to have the elections, but that is not slated to be done until October per the by-laws.  We spoke briefly about the Cameron Hanson Memorial fund and Larry said that we had given $50 to that and to the Red Cross for Katrina relief.  Rick gave out the financial information.  We talked a bit about the non-profit status and what we need to do to get our finances where they need to be.

Then it was time for some fun.  Craig and Gail mapped out a very nice cruise through Sharonville and the surrounding area.  We had 11 Chevelles, one pick-up, and a 57 Chevy rag top.  The cruise took us about an hour, I think, and we didn't lose anyone until late in the cruise.  It was a great site to see a bunch of our club cars all rolling down the road.  Some of them were even sliding side-ways at times.  We had people yelling for us as we cruised through some residential areas and others just stopped to let us all go by.  It was great to say the least and, from those of us who didn't have cars there, thanks to those of you who let us tag along.

    Until next month....

    August 13 Meeting in Franklin

Well today we had a short meeting but there was a big turnout for club members as well as around 500 more cars.  The heat was brutal.  I did not stick around for the Vegas drawing but if I were a betting person I would have to bet Craig and Gail Holder won it.   I still need them to play my lottery numbers for me.  I got to pick up 2 more t-shirts that Craig and Gail took care of for us.  They have others left that were ordered.  I am sure they will have them at the Sept. 18th meeting.

Here is a small list of members today that I remember being there.

    Randy & Alba Chamblin
    Gary & Susan Albers
    Bill Beard
    Joe Lyons
Roger Ishmael  (New Member)  Monaco Orange 69 SS 396  (nice looking machine)
Mike Dilley       (New Member)  Black 70 Chevelle SS454     (nice looking machine as well)
    Larry Grigsby
    Don Overpeck
    Rick Shoemaker
    Dave Maphet
    Ernie Slone
    Ron Taylor
    Mark Budke

If I forgot anyone it is a memory thing.  Not the computer's either.

I can't wait for the next meeting to see all these cool Chevelles going down the road together in the cruise we are putting together.

Ernie's 70 looks great.  I don't know if it is really Ernie's though his better half was enjoying time behind the wheel.

Well the election process has begun.  Here are the people who are running for office.

    Dave Maphet     (President)
    Randy Chamblin  (Vice Prez)
Rick Shoemaker & Joe Lyons  in a run off for Treasurer
    Craig Holder  (Sergeant @ Arms)
    Ron Taylor   (Recording Secretary)

We are having our first run off for office.

It has been a pleasure being Prez for the last 2 years but I think it is time for somebody else to take the reigns for a while.  I will still be involved as much as I can with the club.

The next meeting will be the election meeting plus we have our Picnic that meeting as well.  So we need as many members at that meeting as possible.  The club is springing for the meat and others items.  Susan Albers passed a sign-up list around to the members that want to bring some things.   That meeting should be pretty fun on that day.

Some members will heading to Edgewater speedway on the 21st.   More info on that should be on the website as soon.

That's all unless I missed something.  If I did chime in.  Thanks.

    Larry.

Meeting: July 17, 2:00, Sharon Woods

We had a good attendance this month.  The show was pretty small, due in part to the shower that rolled through, I would say.  I know Ernie won a trophy, but I am not sure for what.  I will post that when I find out.  Congratulations Ernie.  The show was very short this year.  I think the cars were all rolling out by 3:00pm.

    Those in attendance today were:

Jerry Paddock, Larry Grigsby, Joe Lyons, Mark Budke, Jeff Baker, Ernie Slone, Gary Albers, John Singer, Gail Holder, Don Overpeck, Paul Muller, Randy Chamblin, Alba Chamblin, Rick Shoemaker, Ron Taylor, Jerry Root (a possible new member), and numerous family members.

Rick gave the balance in our checking account.  We talked about cleaning up the website a little.  We talked about and decided to buy another pop-up tent and possibly a new banner.  We gave Gail another order for t-shirts.  If you would like to place an order, you can email Craig or Gail.  We set the dates for  the next 2 meetings, with a few details left to iron out.  The dates, times and general info are above.  There was a mention of changing the by-laws to state that offices would be held for a period of 2 years.  That is something that would have to be voted on and we didn't go any further with it.

Thanks to all of the members that showed up yesterday.  This is usually one of our better turnouts.

At the next meeting, we need to start thinking about who wants to run for office.  We really need some new people to step up and help us lead this club into the future.  The officers help keep everything as organized as possible.  While we don't keep everything polished and running like a swiss clock, we do like to have some sort of organization.  We have somewhere around 40 members and we would like to get some new blood in these positions.  Please think about it and hopefully you will decide to help take our club into the new year.

Meeting: June 25, 12:00, Miamisburg Car show.

Downtown Miamisburg, in the traffic circle (HAMBURGER STAND).

Well we did not have an official style meeting but we did have a lot of members there and we quite a few members rides there as well. Including a couple non-Chevelles (83 T/A wife's car) and Dave Maphet's new 2003 SS Silverado truck.

Here's some of the people, and thier Chevelles that attended.

    • John Singer, 69 Chevelle SS
    • Jon Kennedy, 67 Chevelle SS
    • Mike & Tanya Woodford, 67 Malibu
    • Gary Albers, 70 Chevelle SS
    • Ken Balcom, 68 Chevelle
    • Bill Beard, 69 Chevelle SS
    • Mark Budke, 67 Malibu Wagon (4-speed)
    • Jerry Paddock, 70 Chevelle SS
    • Jerry Michaels, 68 Chevelle SS
    • Rick and Amy Shoemaker
    • Randy and Alba Chamblin
    • Ron Taylor
    • Dave Maphet
    • Larry Grigsby
    • John Sens
I am amazed how many 4-speed cars we have in the club. I am beginning to feel left out going with the 400 Turbo. We had a pretty good time bench racing and learning more about our Chevelles and other's pride and joy. A lot of people left when it looked like it was going to storm really bad, but in Miamisburg we had a small shower that lasted about 20 minutes or so.

I think a lot people noticed our club with our T-shirts that we were wearing. I had a couple people inquiring about the club so I think that really helps us get noticed.

Next month we have our meeting scheduled at the Sharon Woods Chevy show on the 17th of July. That is on a Sunday at the Sharon Woods park. For the last couple of years we have had a good showing there so let's keep that up.

The Trim Parts show is on July 19th for those that would like to come out. That is on a Tuesday. There are some really nice machines at that show.

We need to schedule our next two meetings. Plus the August meeting we will be touching on the elections of Officers for the coming year. I do know that I will not be running for the Prez position this time around so if anyone would like to run for that office might want to keep that in mind.

Some of us have met Mark Budke but for the ones that haven't he has posted a few messages on our board and he owns a 67 Malibu wagon, 283 with a Muncie 4-speed. So give Mark a good welcome.

Just keep getting those Chevelles closer to being on the road.

    Larry, th' Prez.........
    Meeting: May 27, 28, 29th Swap Meet
Cars and Parts Swap Meet, Springfield, OH.
We had 2 spaces again this year, Thanks to Larry,& Dave for manning the spot, and Steve, John, Bill, Ernie, Ron, Rick & DG came up (DG took pictures)
We missed having the banner this year!

      May 22 Meeting:

We gathered at Quaker Steak & Lube in Beavercreek for this months meeting.  There was not a lot of business to attend to.  The next two meeting were established.  Larry wasn't able to be there so Dave Maphet took the helm for this meeting.

    • Next two meetings: June 25, 12:00, Miamisburg Car show.  Downtown Miamisburg, in the traffic circle.
July 17th, 2:00, Sharon Woods Park, hopefully we can get a shelter.
    • Body rotisseries: DG brought up the idea of maybe having a get together as a club and building a couple body rotisseries.  If we chip in a few bucks a piece, he said we shouldn't have a problem doing this.  I will let him chime in via the forum to tell you more about this.
    • Swap Meet: The swap meet is this weekend in Springfield.  If you need to sell something, the club will have a space reserved for this purpose.  You can contact Larry about the location.  The only thing that is asked, is that you could possibly work the booth for a little bit, maybe to give one of the guys that stay all day a break.  You are welcome to stay as long as you like.  If you cannot make it to the swap meet, you can probably arrange for one of the guys going to take your items.  They must be clearly marked with the price you want and the lowest price you will take.
    • Please remember if you ordered T-shirts, they are in and the club has taken care of the bill.  Please contact Rick Shoemaker to get your shirts.  Thanks, again, go to Craig and Gail for taking care of the orders and to Rick and Amy for taking on the responsibility of getting them to their rightful owners.

    20th of March Meeting

    • Day Started: in the garage, with Dave and John ripping Rick's transmission apart and delivering the bad news to him.
    • LUNCH: We retreated to the house to eat lunch and have the meeting.  A big thanks to Gail and the other ladies for organizing the meal.  It was very tasty.
    • Meeting: We began with Larry calling everyone to order.  There was a pretty good turn out today.
    • T-Shirts: We decided to go ahead and have the club pay the set-up fee on the embroidery and the silk screening.  We also filled out order forms for our initial order.  If you are interested in having a t-shirt or 4, you can contact any of the officers to let them know.  Craig and Gail are the main contacts for this, so they might be your first choice.  For the first order we decided to just do the silk screened T's.  White T with 3 color chest logo is $6 and colored T with 3 color chest logo is $8.  If you are interested in the colored T, you can contact Craig and Gail for available colors or click HERE to see a list of colors.
    • Next 2 meetings:  We chose April 24th, at 2:00 pm, for the next meeting.  That is the day of the Sharonville Antique and Classic car show in downtown Sharonville.  We also set May 22nd, at 2:00 pm for the May meeting.  That is about 3 weeks  before Chevellabration.  This one will be at Quaker Steak and Lube in Beavercreek.  I will have more information on QS&L later.  I have to finalize the plans with them.  Hopefully they can accommodate us.
    • We talked briefly about CB'05 and The Springfield Swap Meet, and who was attending both of these shows.
    • We then moved back outside and Dave, Rick, and John finished cleaning up the transmission case and parts and put together what they could.  We then started breaking up the gathering.

    19th of Feb. Meeting
    Tom Baygent's place, in Centerville.

From the Prez:We got a lot of sanding and a little bit of welding done on Tom's car. The food was good too. We did not really have a formal meeting at Tom's because of the work being done and the low turnout, but it was good to see everyone that made it. Tom's car has came a long way from the way it was. Hopefully with some elbow grease and some more help in the future he will be rowing through the gears again this summer with that big block.

Tom is one of our founding members for the club for those that have not met him.

Thanks goes out to: Larry, Dave, Ed, Paul, D.G. and Keith.

Rick also read the treasurer's report.
He also brought up a gentleman that can make us some T-shirts with our logo on them. 10.50/each Bigger sizes were a buck more and it was just 30.00 for the art work.

Gail Holder mentioned as well that she knows a lady that does embroidery work for shirts.
Then Ron Simpson knows a couple people that do that work as well.
So we have a good variety to choose who we want to do them. We really need to get going on these soon so be on the look out for some e-mail about this in future.

Also Deren McKitrick has a gentleman that might be able to make some cling on decals for us. He had a big ole Tri-State Chevelle sticker in his back window of his El Camino and you could read it easily.

The Club is purchasing another swap meet spot this year in Springfield at the Clark County (in Springfield, off U.S. 70) fair grounds. FRESS SPACE FOR ALL MEMBERS TO SELL ITEMS. If anyone wants to chip in for another spot (say, for go-karts, etc...) let Larry Grigsby know as we will (personally pay for a second spot). The money (for the extra spot) has to be turned in before Jan. 31 with the club spot. So get with Larry Grigsby soon if you want to get in this year, but you can chip in at the swap. The cost for 1 space is 60.00.

Shows and Events: We have a bunch.

    • Sharonville car show on the first weekend in April
    • Chevellabration, Goodletsville TN (June 9th, 10, 11th)
    • Super Chevy

    • Somerset Kentucky
    • Sharon Woods all Chevy show
    • Miamisburg show
    • Dave Maphet brought up a good thing to participate in, the Edgewater dragstrip usually puts on a Muscle Car Day during the year. You can drag your car down the strip or put in the show.

As far as the Muscular Distrophy show at Hara Arena in Dayton this year We will have to contact Dave Henry and see if his partners are interested in putting on the show for next year. If so, we would like to help out by providing the muscle i.e. bodies for stuffing bags, parking, and food prep.

Please send pictures of your car to DG via the web at nospamchevelle70@woh.rr.com (remove the nospam from the email address before you send it, or have some pictures at the next meeting (electronic on a CD or disc, of he can scan photos, or slides) and we can post them on the website for you.

Rick brought up the Club Picnic for the end of the year and this is something that some of the wives want to plan.

December meeting: Ricks 67, man what progress, truck, quarters, roof skin (still working on it).
Several members have put in a lot of hours to help Rick Get-R-Done. He is not done, but there is light at the end of tunnel as far as major body work goes. There are a few pictures in the members area. Every person who showed up got to do something, welding, drilling, grinding, drilling, grinding, drilling, grinding.........

    • November MeetingRicks S.'s House,
      We worked on Ricks 67!
Check out the fixings! link, and what went on. work

    • Thanks for everyone's participation at the MDA Show.

    Sept. 6th Meeting/MDA Car Show

    • MDA Show Going Ons:

      • Dave Henry informed me they raised close to $5800.00 for MD.
      • We had 13 members, 2 associate members and Gary Albers (a new member) that showed up at the show.
      • I (Larry) just want everyone to know that we have some great better halves that worked their rears off that day as well.
      • DG is planning on working out a new forum deal through Team Chevelle to make it easier for members to get online and discuss things if they want. Look for a New Forum Button to show up.
      • Ron Taylor is still accepting info for the newsletter so keep that in mind.
      • For our meeting we started out introducing the newest 2 members (Greg Niehoff) (Gary Albers) to the club and read the treasury report off.
      • We donated $100.00 to the M.D. cause in a Car-Club Challenge (No takers, unfortunately).
      • We discussed the elections stuff after that and we got a couple nominations for office.
Craig Holder for Sergeant @ Arms and
        Dave Maphet for Vice Prez.
      • The election will be held on Oct. 9 th on a Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at the Sharon Woods Park. After the election stuff gets taken care of we can BS and grill out or something.
      • There were no objections to having the next two monthly meetings on November 14th on a Sunday and the December meeting will be held on the 11th on a Saturday. We are having these meetings earlier in the month to avoid the Holiday crunch.
      • We did not get any locations for these two meetings but I did get a suggestion from one member after the show Monday. That we should coincide our meetings with helping out a member work on their Chevelle. I got to admit that 10-15 guys and gals could strip a car down to bare metal, pull an engine or trans, hang sheet metal pretty quickly. We have some time to debate that so the members can kick this around. Just food for thought.
      • Don't forget the Pumpkin Run is October 1-2-3.
Somerset Cruise in Somerset Ky. is Sept. 25th.
Toys for Tots is Oct. 31
      • Thanks for everyone's participation at the MDA Show. Thanks to Dave Henry for letting us piggyback on the M.D. show it helped the M.D. kids along with getting us some needed exposure in the region.

Minutes from the June 26th meeting

    • Larry was unable to be there so DG took the helm, and welcomed everyone.  He went ahead and mentioned the things going on with the website and the web committee.  He asked the members to let us know if they want a Newsletter mailed out, and if they do that is how they will receive it.

    • Rick gave the treasurers report

    • The next meeting date was changed from Aug. 7th to July 25th at the all Chevy show at sharon woods.  The following meeting will be on Sept. 5th at the Tim Henry MDA Memorial Car show at Hara Arena.
