Club News and General Interest -

Hello everyone, I am writing to let you know that one of our members and former President Steve Wilson has passed away. Steve’s funeral was on Saturday, May 1st, 2010, at Mt. View Cemetery. Thank you to all who attended Steve's Funeral and all that brought there show cars out. Virginia

REMEMBERING STEVE WILSON

Steve lost his battle with cancer on Saturday April 24th. He had endured several operations and treatments, all to no avail. We all can be comforted to know that he is now pain free and resting peacefully in a better place.

Some of the very newest members might not even know Steve as the illness  limited his activities with the club for the past several months. Steve was a fighter though. He was determined to continue to do as much as he could of the things he enjoyed as long as he could. He attended the ELYELLO FALL RUN and participated in the Enumclaw Christmas Parade, even though he was in a great deal of discomfort.

Although there are other members who were closer to Steve than I was, I still considered him a friend as well as a club member. He was very active in club events from the day he joined, serving as an officer during my term as president, then filling the president’s position himself. I know he helped me a lot during my term, and I felt privileged that he consulted with me during his. Steve was instrumental in the club project a few years ago to help a sick member finish his Chevelle restoration. He helped steer the club through the transition back to a one-day show, giving up hosting the ACES Regional, and moving to a new venue. I know those were stressful times and he pulled us through.

I remember Steve as this tall, skinny, with a dry sense of humor, who always wore a baseball hat. I remember him being a “car guy” through and through, and as knowledgeable as anyone about them. He had several cars and always had a project or two to work on. I can remember him as easy-going and can’t think of a time I saw him mad or unhappy over anything.

The club lost not only a member, but we all lost a good friend. He will be missed! Rest in peace Steve, we’ll carry on in your remembrance.

   Past President - Don Johnson

Hello Everybody.
Our club's past President; Steve Wilson, passed away on April 24th. A sad Day for the Puget Sound area to lose a great "car guy"
Thanks to all whom brought their cars and attended his funeral. I met Steve just a few years ago and we hit it off really good. We always had something to talk about in common. He was a wealth of information. One evening while talking local cars/owners, we both knew- going back 30 years and the stories we shared... (cant name 'em, got to protect the guilty) It was a great time reminiscing with him, truly amazing that we had not crossed paths before with all the same people we both knew. Glad to say our paths crossed-it should have been sooner. Thanks for letting me pester you with questions & ideas. You'll be missed by all.
