Moved battery up to front and bypassed wiring from trunk to starter, no more click.....now I need to make it "shine" to fit in with the engine compartment. Oh dear.....

No more click or anything? Or is the starter turning with no click now meaning it is working accordingly?

Could have been the cable running to the trunk... corrosion inside the terminal end or the voltage drop of cable too small (worse when gets hot) and cause problems.

Maybe, but works great now. Move battery back to stock position and replaced wiring.

I don't know the color of the wiring but there is a a wire going into the neutral safety switch and a wire coming out that gets energized when you turn the key. I just wonder what happens when you run 12 volts to that wire that is coming from that neutral safety switch. Is there an adjustment for that switch? Just wish I could get time to come down there and look at it. I think with another set of eyes we could whip that thing into shape.
