As discussed at the last meeting we have been looking for an event this year for a club charity event. We discussed a poker run or car show event to help a charity.
Today Jeff, Craig, Gail, Tanya and myself met at the One Way Farm in Fairfield to look at their facility and inquire about doing an event with them. What we found was a local organization doing some very good work with kids and we were very impressed. They welcomed our ideas and it was decided to switch our charity to them and to do a car show there to help them raise money.
The details are very sketchy at this time but we are working to nail down a date for a car show on their property in Fairfield. One Way Farm is well versed on charity events including car shows at their facility so we thought given our first time on this and their experience it was a good fit for our club.
They have plenty of parking and can provide a food service that is in house all we need to do is manage the car show. By saying "all we need to do" does not mean we can sit back and it will take care of itself. It will take a very good club cooperative effort to make this happen. We will need sponsors, car plaques, dash plaques, door prizes and help from all. We will need club members to hit your local connections for all the above. I will be making flyers up soon once a date is set so we all can start approaching your connections.
I have attached a link to their website and I think you will see that this a very worthwhile cause and all the proceeds stay local. The One Way Farm is well known locally for their work and well connected in the area. It is one person's life mission to care for these kids and ask for nothing in return other than raising these kids.
Take the time to check out this website and think about how you can help the club with this event.
