Purchased in February of 2002, this ‘67 used to be red with a black top. It was in need of some TLC, so the Henderson, MD resident knew just what to do.
Joe performed all the body work and prep before the Dupont Artic Silver paint was applied. As an added feature, black cherry flames were applied. The interior, also refurbished by Joe, features a black and grey color scheme with bucket seats.
The 350-350 small block features lots of chrome, Edelbrock Torker II cam, lifter, and intake, and a 650 Holley carb. As an extra added measure for coolness, the windows have been tinted. Rolling stock consists of 60-series rubber mounted on rally wheels featuring spinner caps.
Joe admits he’s always ready to cruise. And why not, this ‘67 is definitely an eye catcher. They’ve never missed the Ocean City cruises. In fact, this picture was taken during the board walk parade at the spring Cruisin’ Ocean City.

Maryland is not the only state our Members call home. Ken Owens of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma is also an avid Chevelle Enthusiast and does his share of cruisin and showin’. And Ken has the ultimate cruiser, a ‘68 SS 396 drop top! This Grotto Blue cruiser features a matching bucket seat interior, white top, and white SD 396 stripes.
Under the hood is equally clean and detailed. The twin-carbed big block features lots of go-fast goodies, braided hoses, power steering and brakes, and just in case it’s TOO hot for top down cruising, factory air conditioning.
Check out that steering wheel! The interior matches the exterior color of the Chevelle. The dash bezel is totally chromed and features factory gauges.
Ken recently received a 2nd Place Award at the ACES Mid-West Regional in Kansas City. There’s even a snap-shot of him in the 2001 November- December issue of “Chevelle World” wiping down his Chevelle.
